The Perfect White Cabinets

Thursday, August 23, 2012

Finding the perfect white for your kitchen cabinets can be a daunting task.

If you think white cabinets would be too stark for your taste, you could go with a soft ivory, like in this kitchen painted with Atrium White by Benjamin Moore.

You can also see that white cabinets really pop when paired with dark hardwood floors.

These cabinets have more of beige undertone, which compliments the marble counters very well.

Thinking of adding some color to those white cabinets?  How about painting the interior a vibrant color.

This amazing ceiling can be the center of attention next to these simple white cabinets.

There is definitely something so classic and clean about a white kitchen. It works with many décor styles and homes and will never become dated looking.

Front Doors

Thursday, July 26, 2012

Your front door sets the tone for your home.  The possibilities are endless: bright colors, high gloss finish, modern—or you could go with a heavy distressed finish like we did on this client’s home.

It really makes for a dramatic entrance. Don’t you think?

Do you have a farmhouse style door? We painted this farmhouse door a gorgeous olive green, which works so well with the iron hardware and wood trim.

Enhance your French doors with some pretty blue painted shutters, like these we did for a client’s Tuscan inspired home.

This craftsman style home opted to go with a sleek set of black glass doors, which allows the wood finish to take center stage.

Modernizing Antique Furniture

Thursday, July 26, 2012

Painted antique furniture has been all the rage lately. The idea is to take a dated piece of antique furniture and paint it a fun modern color.

Notice how it changes these pieces completely and brings out the antique lines and character that could have been masked by a dated wood finish.

A pop of color makes a huge statement in any home and will blend with any décor style.

For an even more dramatic appearance, have it painted in a high-gloss finish (as in the examples below):
